Journal of Herpetology is an international peer-reviewed, quarterly publication of the Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles produced continuously since 1968. The journal publishes papers on behavior, ecology and conservation, biochemistry and physiology, morphology, and taxonomy and systematics.
Publication model:
Submitted manuscripts are first reviewed by either an amphibian or a reptile co-editor who will decide if the manuscript falls within the scope of the journal. Manuscripts of appropriate scope are then assigned to an associate editor with appropriate expertise. The manuscript is reviewed by two anonymous reviewers.
Publishing formats:
Manuscripts are formatted with an abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, and literature cited sections.
